Belching, also called burping, is the normal act of expelling out stomach gas through mouth. Belching is, in fact, caused by inflated stomach that has dilated due to swallowed air. Air can be swallowed while gulping food and drinking rapidly or due to anxiety as well as carbonated drinks. The swallowed air in the stomach (stomach gas) causes abdominal discomfort that in turn results into belching for expelling the air out to get gas relief. Acid reflux or Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) can also cause belching. When stomach acid backs up into esophagus, the person may swallow repeatedly in order to clear the material. This sometimes leads to swallowing more air and more belching. To avoid belching, take the following measures.- • Make habit of eating and drinking slowly. This will eliminate the chance of swallowing air.

- • Do not stare continuously, specially while looking at long distance objects. Blinking or giving rest to the eyes is good. Do not look at the objects in bright sunlight for a long time. - • Staying up late in the night and sleeping after sunrise is harmful for the eyes. In case of staying up late, drink a cup of water after each hour or half hour.
- • Protect your eyes from dust, smoke, strong sunlight and strong wind. Avoid staying long in such conditions. In case you have to stay, blink often and massage the closed eyes gently with your palms.
- • Try to maintain regular and clean bowel movements. Constipation weakens the eyesight. In addition; too much anxiety, mental stress, grief, anger and worry are harmful for the eyes.
- • Regular eye exercise maintains perfect eyesight. One simple method of exercise is moving the eyeball - right and left; upwards and downwards and rotating it in the clockwise and anti-clockwise directions.
- • Another simple way of protecting of eyes is through 'palming'. Rub the palms of both hands for about 30 seconds, close the eyes and gently place the warm palms over the eyes.
- • Eating cabbage and carrots is very beneficial for the eyes. These should be eaten raw. It is all right to drink cabbage and carrot juice mixed together or separately.
- • If Triphala (an Ayurvedic preparation) is available, you can wash the eyes with 'Triphala water'. Put a teaspoonful of Triphala powder in a glass of water, and let it stay overnight. Strain the water and wash the eyes with it.
- • Putting one drop of honey in each eye once a week is also beneficial to the eyes. It causes a bit of irritation, but cleans the eyes.

The Ayurvedic Treatment for AIDS
The treatment starts with tonics and rejuvenators (Rasayanams). They are given to the patient to boost immunity levels. Ajamamsa Rasayanam (prepared from ghee, cow's milk, and an extract of goat's meat) and Indukantham Ghritham are given to strengthen the system and increase appetite. Later, Rasasindoor is applied along with some medicines that provides strength. Rasasindoor is prepared with purified mercury. This treatment is given within a 6-month period and it shows good results. This of course depends on how severe the case is and other related parameters. The success could be provisional, though. There is still the chance that the virus is in the body, but it cannot do further damage due to the bolstered immune response. The patient may then live out his normal lifespan.If the patient begins to recover, elimination or shodhana techniques are applied to remove toxins from the body through enemas, emesis and purgation. The medicines that are to be taken at this stage are soft, ghee-based and eco-friendly product so that the patient takes them with ease. As overall immunity improves, the blood is also purified with cooling medications. Once the blood has been purified, a non-vegetarian, healthy diet along with ghee preparations and soups is suggested. But oily, spicy, and acidic foods are to be avoided.
The patient is given a cold water bath twice or thrice a day, and then sandalwood paste is applied on the body. The baths and the pastes cool the blood and the body.
Ayurveda and Chyavanprash
Chyavanprash, a well known Ayurvedic medicine is extremely helful to fight AIDS. Chyavanprash is made of goose berry or amla, which provides vitamin C to the body, including anti oxidants like vitamin B complex, vitamin A, bioflavonoid. Besides being antifungal and anti bacterial, amla helps in digestion and also lowers blood pressure and high cholesterol. With more than 35 other herbs in its constitution, Chyavanprash has the power to fight against AIDS. This is good for general health as well.In an International Medical Seminar on AIDS, it was declared that Chyavanprash in the form of Raktavardhak (1 spoon) in the morning and Sookshma triphla tabs (2 tablets) twice a day has significantly improved the life of AIDS patients and has been able to keep away the diseases and deadly infections.

- - Coriander seed (500 mg) and Aniseed croomy (Saunf) to be taken twice a day.
- - Another remedy is to take lemon water with equal amount of sugar and salt to be taken everyday.
- - Luke warm , also known as Koshna Jal should be drunk after 1/2 hour.
- - Diet to be reduced to 3/4 th of regular diet.
- - Exercises after a meal.
- - To keep oneself balanced. Psychological reasons like grief, anger, anxiety and depression also leads to the onset of acidity.
More Ayurvedic Treatment for Amalapitta
- Vata Type of acidity: Asafetida and cloves can be given. Preparations like Pachakshara choorna, Narayana choorna are recommended.
- Pitta Type of Acidity: Amalaki or Indian Gooseberry is initially recommended in order to reduce the acidity of the stomach. Then Shatavari tablet is prescribed. The medication needs to be taken for 2 weeks.
- Kapha Type of Acidity: The ayurvedic treatment for this type of acidity begins with fasting to correct the digestive fire. Herbs are given in order to solve the digestive problems. Then treatment with Shankha vati and Jeerakadyarishta is prescribed by practitioners for 3 weeks.

food is very important. All types of food whether solids, semi-solids or liquids in the form of water, milk, juices etc. are referred as Aahar in Ayurveda. Aahar is emphasized in Ayurveda because it is Aahar or food that we eat which plays an important role in maintaining the overall health and well being. The ultimate objective in the science of life is arogya or health. The whole process of digestion in ayurvedic terminology is Aahar Pachan.
All food articles possess their own Rasa (taste), Guna (characteristics), Virya (potency), and Vipaka (post digestion effect) and also Prabhava (impact). We should be very careful with the food we intake. Our diet should be a balanced diet with adequate quantity of calories and nutrients. The calorie and nutrient content varies according to age. For proper digestion or aahar pachan, it is necessary that the right food is consumed at the right time and there should be no intake of incompatible food. When two or more food items having different taste, energy and post digestion effect are taken together, the digestive system can become overloaded, resulting in the production of toxins. Incompatible foods can produce indigestion, putrefaction, fermentation, and gas formation and, if prolonged, can lead to toxemia, and diseases.

Weight loss occurs when an individual is in a state of negative energy balance. When the human body is spending more energy in work and heat than it is gaining from food or other nutritional supplements, it will catabolise stored reserves of fat or muscle.
It is not uncommon for people who are already at a medically healthy weight to intentionally lose weight. In some cases it is with the goal of improving athletic performance or to meet weight classifications in a sport. In other cases, the goal is to attain a more attractively shaped body.
